W for walnut. M for 😋 . I’ve been spending the last few days sitting at the computer…just designing and running tests on a new project where 90% of the ‘woodworking’ will be done on the cnc. I haven’t run a single thing through the table saw all week. 😒 . It’s just been a lot of “program once, simulate twice, modify three times, cut once, throw away” 😂 . What defines “woodworking?” Running wood through a saw? Running a saw through wood? Aren’t all tools just conveniences for working with wood? Does the ability to work with a hand tool immediately demand a higher respect than ones which provide a different set of design possibilities? I think this debate will never end, haha . 🔊 Do you ever say “yes” to a project, knowing you’ll be kicking yourself later because of how much time it takes to make it? 🙋🏻‍♂️ . 1 hour of design time; 1 hour of lasering/prepping for paint; 45 minutes painting eight individual colors on a single piece of clear acrylic… . Factoring in the time above, this cake topper was made at a compensation rate of…minimum wage 😂.
